Nobody buys a $3,450 sofa through a web cart

Big-ticket retail is the case where a normal online store is the wrong shape. The catalogue runs to hundreds of items, the customer needs to filter it before they will look at anything, and at the end of it they want a delivery date and a person — not a checkout button. Most furniture sites either hide the range behind a contact form or drop a full e-commerce cart onto a purchase nobody completes online.

What we do differently

Filtering that survives a hundred products
Category, price band, and the one or two facets that actually narrow a room — built to work without JavaScript, so the catalogue is indexable and instant. A range this size is unusable without it.
A deposit, not a checkout
The commerce slot is framed around reserving a piece or paying a deposit, because that is the transaction that happens. Pretending otherwise loses the sale and the data about it.
Delivery and assembly stated plainly
Who carries it up the stairs, what it costs, how long it takes, and what happens to the old one. These are the questions that stall a big purchase, and they belong on the page rather than in a phone call.
A showroom worth visiting
Most of these sales still close in the room. The site's job is to get somebody into it with a shortlist already in their head, so the showroom page is treated as a destination, not a footer address.

The marketing plays

Written for furniture & appliances — not recycled from another industry with the nouns swapped. This is the human half of the shop.

Google Shopping and search

Furniture buyers search specific — "3 seater fabric sofa grey" — and compare for weeks. Product pages that answer dimensions, materials and lead time are what get shortlisted.

Meta retargeting

A considered purchase takes multiple visits. Retargeting the pieces somebody actually looked at, rather than the brand generally, is the difference between reminding and nagging.

Local delivery radius targeting

Your market ends where your trucks stop. Paid social confined to that radius stops paying for clicks from people you cannot deliver to.

Seasonal clearance events

Floor models, end-of-line and long-weekend sales are the calendar this trade runs on. Each deserves a page and a short campaign rather than a banner on the homepage.

What we'd build for furniture stores

Not a drawing of a furniture site — the finished one, on the Standard Package spec this page describes. It is a sample business, not a client, and it says so on every page of it.

The largest catalogue in the set, and the one to open when a client asks what happens past a hundred products. Two-facet filtering on every category page with zero JavaScript, and the Clover slot framed for a deposit rather than a checkout — nobody buys a $3,450 sofa through a web cart.
